7b7209f635 Xcode: Do not require code signing for compiler id (#15214)
The approach in commit v3.1.0-rc1~1^2 (Xcode: Fix compiler id detection
when code signing is required, 2014-10-22) still requires a code signing
key when targeting a real device. Instead set CODE_SIGNING_REQUIRED to
"NO" to tell Xcode not to sign at all. Drop the corresponding setting
of the code signing identity.

7f89552a8f Xcode: Fix compiler path detection for iOS tools on Xcode <= 5.0 (#15237)
Since commit v3.1.0-rc1~1^2~1 (Xcode: Fix compiler id detection for iOS
tools, 2014-10-22) our compiler id detection project sets the product
type to 'com.apple.product-type.bundle.unit-test'. This causes the Ld
command line on which we match the path to the compiler to have a
'CompilerIdC.xctest/' component. The commit updated our regex to match
this, but placed it before the extra './' component that Xcode 5.0 and
below produce. Xcode <= 5.0 prints '/./CompilerIdC.xctest/', so switch
the order of the two components in the regex to match it.

b91020f659 Xcode: Fix compiler id detection when code signing is required
The iOS product type 'com.apple.package-type.bundle.unit-test' requires
code signing on Xcode 6. Other iOS target types do too. Until CMake
learns to add the CODE_SIGN_IDENTITY build attribute itself, toolchain
files can set CMAKE_XCODE_ATTRIBUTE_CODE_SIGN_IDENTITY to tell the Xcode
generator to add the attribute. Teach CMakeDetermineCompilerId to
recognize this variable and add the CODE_SIGN_IDENTITY build attribute
to the compiler id project.

c48f6e1229 Xcode: Fix compiler id detection for iOS tools (#15214)
Since commit 0cce556b (Xcode: Use sysroot and deployment target to
identify compiler, 2014-04-29) our compiler id detection project uses
the target platform SDK in case Xcode selects a different compiler based
on it. Now the compiler id project actually compiles with the target
compiler and SDK when cross-compiling.

The iOS tools do not support the 'com.apple.product-type.tool' product
type we use in our compiler id detection project. When targeting
iPhone, use product type 'com.apple.product-type.bundle.unit-test'
instead.

Use CMAKE_OSX_SYSROOT and CMAKE_OSX_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET to set the Xcode

e00db59d6c QNX: Introduce QCC compiler id for that QNX platform compiler.
Introduce policy CMP0047 to control resetting the id for
compatibility.

De-duplicate content in the QNX platform file by including the GNU
one. QNX is a form of GNU platform.

Do not clear CMAKE_SHARED_LIBRARY_${lang}_FLAGS variables. They
are populated again later by the Compiler/GNU.cmake file anyway.

Modify the CMAKE_CXX_COMPILE_OBJECT variable only when the QCC
compiler id is in use, and the language is CXX. Use the QNX
recommended flag for QCC instead of the gcc compatible -x flag.

Populate new module files to handle system includes and depfiles
when using the QCC compiler.

Remove code which unsets the system include and depfiles related
variables. When a GNU driver is used instead of the QCC one, the
appropriate flags will be used. These variables were previously
cleared for lowest-common-denominator compatibility with both
drivers.

2d36c9ab60 CMakeDetermineCompilerId: Fix Intel Fortran compiler id detection
The Intel Fortran compiler needs the /fpp option to enable C
preprocessing. Without the option the compiler may warn and ignore
preprocessor lines instead of failing with an error. Detect the
warning and treat it as failure so that we move on to try /fpp and
detect the correct id. Without this it works only by luck because
Intel is the first compiler id in our detection source file.

7195aca54f Make platform information files specific to the CMake version
At the top of a build tree we configure inside the CMakeFiles directory
files such as "CMakeSystem.cmake" and "CMake<lang>Compiler.cmake" to
save information detected about the system and compilers in use. The
method of detection and the exact results store varies across CMake
versions as things improve. This leads to problems when loading files
configured by a different version of CMake. Previously we ignored such
existing files only if the major.minor part of the CMake version
component changed, and depended on the CMakeCache.txt to tell us the
last version of CMake that wrote the files. This led to problems if the
user deletes the CMakeCache.txt or we add required information to the
files in a patch-level release of CMake (still a "feature point" release
by modern CMake versioning convention).

Ensure that we always have version-consistent platform information files
by storing them in a subdirectory named with the CMake version. Every
version of CMake will do its own system and compiler identification
checks even when a build tree has already been configured by another
version of CMake. Stored results will not clobber those from other
versions of CMake which may be run again on the same tree in the future.
Loaded results will match what the system and language modules expect.

Rename the undocumented variable CMAKE_PLATFORM_ROOT_BIN to
CMAKE_PLATFORM_INFO_DIR to clarify its purpose. The new variable points
at the version-specific directory while the old variable did not.

the compiler identification source we file(GLOB) the list of output

create directories, so exclude exclude directories from this list.

CMake(C|CXX)Compiler.cmake in the build tree. Document the variable for
internal use since we do not set it everywhere yet.

Report the compiler version on the compiler id result line e.g.

The C compiler identification is GNU 4.5.2

Report CMAKE_(C|CXX)_COMPILER_(ID|VERSION) in SystemInformation test.

e6c9bc267b Add timeout to execute_process() in CMAKE_DETERMINE_COMPILER_ID().
In CMAKE_DETERMINE_COMPILER_ID_VENDOR() the compiler is called with various
arguments. In some cases, this can make the compiler hang and wait
forever for input (e.g. "as -v"). That's why add an timeout
so it terminates finally. 10 seconds should be more than enough,
this is the time it takes to startup the compiler, which is
usually quite fast.

b333779e34 Detect a COMPILER_ID also for ASM.
For assembler, the "compiler ID" cannot be detected by "compiling" a
source file, since there is not source file all assemblers understand.
Instead the function CMAKE_DETERMINE_COMPILER_ID_VENDOR() is used to
run the assembler and check its output.
For this the CMAKE_DETERMINE_COMPILER_ID_VENDOR() function had to be
extended so that it creates the run directory if it doesn't exist yet.

In CMakeASMInformation.cmake now also CMAKE_ASM_COMPILER_ID is used
(but there are no such files yet, will come with the support for the
IAR toolchain).

fd38eda9fe Support multiple arguments in CC,CXX,FC values
Teach compiler identification to support values such as

by separating the arguments on spaces. We already do this for the

3c2ecbe74e Add alternate per-vendor compiler id detection
At least one Fortran compiler does not provide a preprocessor symbol to
identify itself. Instead we try running unknown compilers with version
query flags known for each vendor and look for known output. Future
commits will add vendor-specific flags/output table entries.

New variables CMAKE_HOST_WIN32, CMAKE_HOST_UNIX, CMAKE_HOST_APPLE and
CMAKE_HOST_CYGWIN have been added in cmMakefile.cxx (...and have now to be
used in all cmake files which are executed before
CMakeSystemSpecificInformation.cmake is loaded). For compatibility the old
set is set to the new one in CMakeDetermineSystem.cmake and reset before the
system platform files are loaded, so custom language or compiler modules
which use these should still work.

55f11b348b ENH: add option to FILE(STRINGS NO_HEX_CONVERSION) to disable automatic
conversion of hex and srec files to binary.
Without this automatic conversion, everywhere where a compiled file is parsed for strings the
a file(HEX2BIN somefile binfile) command has to be added otherwise it will
not work for these compilers. I tried this with DetermineCompiler and
CheckTypeSize and nobody will do this except the users who work with such
compilers. For them it will break if they don't add this conversion command
in all these places.
If FILE(STRINGS) is used with a text file, it
will in most cases still work as expected, since it will only convert hex
and srec files. If a user actually wants to get text out of hex files, he
knows what he's doing and will see the hint in the documentation.

Anyway, it should work without having to create a temporary file, will work
on this later.
